Drinking Jenga: Rules for Geeks, Nerds, Doctors, Board Gamers and More

A few years ago, I gifted a version of Drinking Jenga (or block towers) as a joke. But then, as usual, I had too many ideas in my head for more themes to the game.

From the original Jenga party game, I developed:

  • Geek Edition (for geeks)

  • Medical Edition (for doctors, nurses, etc.)

  • Liquor Edition (for mixologists and cocktail enthusiasts)

  • Board Game Edition (for tabletop gamers)

A normal start

The Original Edition isn't one I invented (although I did add some flavour to the pieces). The idea of all of these games is that you buy a falling tower game, you write a "type" on each block (usually in permanent marker), and then as you play, you pull a block and read the title written on it. Each "type" corresponds to a rule in the rules sheet.

It's a great party game for an unlimited group of people. And hey, if you don't drink, just make it orange juice. No judgement here! It's all about having fun.

Games in the original version include charades, innuendoes, rhyming, names, etc.

An example of one of the rules:

Nicknames

Assign every player a nickname. Everyone must use these nicknames for the rest of the game. If they fail, they must take a drink.

The first theme I chose was (predictably) geeky stuff! It's a party game that welcomes a little fandom from a lot of places.

Type

Mr Underhill

There is a little hobbit sitting on your glass. You must take him off every time you drink, and then return him to his place on the rim afterwards. If you forget, you drink.
